The cucumber is technically a fruit. So are squash and peppers!


   

The reason for this is because cucumbers are the matured ovaries of a flower and therefore contain seeds. However, much like tomatoes, peppers, melons, and squash, they are commonly referred to as vegetables at the dinner table.
