Astronomers recently found a fourth planet in orbit around the star HR 8799, but they cannot explain its existence! The other three planets, nearly 130 light-years from Earth, were discovered by scientists in Hawaii two years ago. This extremely large fourth planet does not follow any of the established rules for planet formation currently known to humankind!

Scientists have two theories that may account for the existence of this celestial giant. The first involves the rapid collapse of gas around a dense region called a graviational instability. The alternative explanation posits a core formed from accumulated dust, followed by gradual atmosphere accumulation. However, neither of these theories are able to explain the planet's formation in relation to its three neighbors!
